This 4-day trip is perfect for those who want a mix of culture, waterfalls, beaches, and scenic hills. You’ll visit traditional villages like Ratenggaro and Prai Ijing, swim in the stunning Waikuri Lagoon, and relax on beautiful beaches. Enjoy breathtaking views from Wairinding Hills and choose between exploring Tanggedu Waterfall or Waimarang Waterfall. Day 1: Arrival & Southwest Sumba Wonders
After arriving at Tambolaka Airport, your adventure begins with a visit to Ratenggaro Village, a unique cultural site with towering traditional houses and ocean views. Next, head to Waikuri Lagoon, a stunning natural saltwater pool, perfect for a relaxing swim. Then, visit Mandorak Beach, a hidden paradise with dramatic rock formations and turquoise waters. As the day winds down, check in at Sima Sumba Hotel, where you can rest and get ready for another exciting day.
Day 2: Hidden Gems & Scenic Hills
Start the day with a trip to Waikacura Waterfall, a peaceful and secluded spot surrounded by lush greenery. Then, relax at Watubela Beach, where golden sand and crystal-clear waters create a perfect escape. Continue to Prai Ijing Village, where you’ll experience Sumba’s rich culture and unique traditional homes. The highlight of the day is Wairinding Hills, a breathtaking viewpoint with rolling green landscapes that offer the perfect backdrop for photos. In the evening, check in at Padadita Beach Hotel and unwind by the beach.
Day 3: Waterfalls & Beachside Relaxation
This day offers two itinerary options based on your preference. Plan A takes you to Tanggedu Waterfall, a hidden oasis with rock formations and fresh waters, followed by a visit to Purukambera Beach and Walakiri Beach, famous for its “dancing” mangrove trees and incredible sunset views. Plan B offers a visit to Waimarang Waterfall, a natural pool with crystal-clear water, followed by a trip to Rende Village, where you’ll explore ancient stone tombs and traditional Sumbanese houses before ending at Walakiri Beach for sunset.
Day 4: Farewell Sumba
After a relaxed morning, check out from Padadita Beach Hotel and transfer to Umbu Mehang Kunda Airport, taking with you amazing memories of Sumba’s landscapes, culture, and natural beauty.
