An Unforgettable 2 Days 1 Night Flores Overland Tour via Spider Web Rice Fields
A Wae Rebo Trip is more than just a visit to a traditional village—it is a journey through culture, nature, and the hidden beauty of Flores. This 2 Days 1 Night Flores Overland Tour was designed for travelers who want a deeper experience beyond the usual route. It combines iconic landscapes with authentic local encounters.
On this trip, I had the pleasure of accompanying two close friends from Singapore. They discovered my website after joining a previous Sailing Trip 3D2N. This time, they chose to explore Flores by land. It became an Unforgettable adventure that they truly enjoyed.
Day 1: Labuan Bajo – Spider Web Rice Field Cancar – Dintor
Our 2 Days 1 Night Flores Overland Tour began early in the morning with hotel pickup in Labuan Bajo. From there, we drove east toward Cancar to visit the famous Spider Web Rice Field (Lingko Cancar).

The view from above revealed a spectacular circular rice field pattern, representing the traditional Manggarai land-sharing system. Surrounded by green hills and fresh mountain air, the area was perfect for photography and quiet appreciation. Most travelers on a Wae Rebo Trip go directly to the village. Adding Cancar made this journey more special and unique. This was something my guests truly appreciated.
After enjoying Cancar, we continued our overland drive to Dintor, a peaceful coastal village that serves as a resting point before hiking to Wae Rebo. Along the way, we passed local villages and scenic landscapes that showed the true charm of Flores. We arrived in Dintor in the afternoon. We stayed overnight to rest before the next day’s trek.
Day 2: Dintor – Wae Rebo Village – Labuan Bajo
The second day of our Wae Rebo Trip started early at around 5:00 AM. From Dintor, we used ojek (motorbike taxi) to reach Post 1, the official starting point of the Wae Rebo hike.

From Post 1, we began our trek through dense forest and mountainous terrain. The trail was moderately challenging. We stopped several times to rest, take photos, and enjoy the fresh air. After approximately three hours of trekking, we finally reached the magical village of Wae Rebo, hidden above the clouds.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed into the main traditional house to meet the village elders and take part in the Wae Lu’u welcoming ceremony. This sacred ritual symbolizes respect and permission to stay in the village. It was a meaningful cultural experience and a highlight of this 2 Days 1 Night Flores Overland Tour.

After the ceremony, we spent time exploring the village, taking photos, chatting with local residents, and meeting other travelers. Many visitors came directly from Labuan Bajo, and my guests felt especially happy to experience an extended route that included Cancar and Dintor.
Before noon, we began our descent back to Dintor. After enjoying lunch, we continued our journey back to Labuan Bajo. We enjoyed beautiful sunset views along the way.
Guest Testimony from Singapore
At the end of the journey, my guests shared their honest feelings about the experience. They said the trip was a bit tiring, especially with the early start and the hike to Wae Rebo. However, seeing one of the world’s most beautiful villages made everything worth it. The experience gave them a satisfaction beyond words.
“Yes, it was quite tiring, but standing in Wae Rebo and experiencing the village with our own eyes made everything worth it. Knowing this is one of the world’s most beautiful villages gave us a deep sense of fulfillment. We will definitely come back to Flores and explore more, especially to the east—Kelimutu and its Three Colored Lakes are already on our list.”
Their words perfectly reflected the spirit of this Wae Rebo Trip—a journey that may require effort, but rewards travelers with unforgettable memories. This 2 Days 1 Night Flores Overland Tour is not just about reaching a destination, but about experiencing Flores in its most authentic form.
